The RICHARD MILLE RM 65-01 McLaren W1 is a testament to the fusion of high-performance technology and luxury design. This exquisite timepiece draws inspiration from the McLaren W1 supercar, featuring a striking blend of materials and colors that evoke the spirit of racing.
Crafted in collaboration with the British supercar manufacturer McLaren, the RM 65-01 McLaren W1 is the fourth watch in the series. It combines Carbon TPT® carbon fiber with grade 5 titanium in its bezel, showcasing a unique texture for each piece. The bold use of orange, yellow, and blue reflects the vibrant hues of racing elements, delivering a watch that is both visually striking and aerodynamically inspired.
The case design takes cues from the elegant lines of the McLaren W1, with its dual-layered concave and convex bezel structure. The upper layer made of Carbon TPT® carbon fiber and the polished titanium lower layer are a mere 0.5mm at their thinnest, embodying a sophisticated and dynamic aesthetic.
The skeletonized titanium dial borrows its pattern from the W1’s wheel hubs, accentuated by color details reminiscent of a supercar’s dashboard. Yellow adorns the hour and minute hands as well as the small seconds hand at 6 o’clock, while the 30-minute and 12-hour chronograph subdials dazzle in orange, and the chronograph seconds scale features a vibrant blue. A vertically aligned date window at 11 o’clock further enhances functionality.
Powered by the RMAC4 automatic winding movement, the watch offers a 60-hour power reserve and remarkable chronometric precision of 1/10 second. The movement’s baseplate and bridges are crafted from grade 5 titanium, ensuring robustness and reliability.
The rubber strap is available in black and orange, with streamlined patterns inspired by the aerodynamic vents of the W1’s engine cover, reinforcing the watch’s connection to the high-speed world of motorsports.
