RICHARD MILLE has once again teamed up with the renowned British supercar manufacturer, McLaren, to introduce their fourth collaborative timepiece, the ‘RM 65-01 McLaren W1’. Drawing inspiration from the latest McLaren W1 supercar, this captivating watch features a groundbreaking combination of Carbon TPT® carbon fiber and grade 5 titanium for the bezel, skillfully incorporating vibrant racing colors such as orange, yellow, and blue.
The tonneau-shaped case design echoes the elegant lines of the McLaren W1 car, with its ‘convex and concave’ profile, translated into a recessed ‘double-layer’ bezel on the watch. The top layer of the bezel is crafted from Carbon TPT® carbon fiber, giving each case a unique texture, while the polished grade 5 titanium forms the bottom layer, measuring just 0.5mm at its thinnest point. The chronograph pushers are made from Carbon TPT carbon fiber, and the titanium crown is wrapped in orange rubber to enhance the tactile experience.
The openworked titanium dial is inspired by the wheel hubs of the W1 supercar, with colorful accents reminiscent of a supercar’s dashboard. The hour and minute hands, along with the small seconds hand at 6 o’clock, are adorned in yellow, while the 30-minute and 12-hour counters feature orange accents. The chronograph seconds track is highlighted in blue, and the vertical date window is positioned at 11 o’clock on the dial.
Underneath the dial lies the RMAC4 automatic winding movement, offering a 60-hour power reserve. The movement’s baseplate and bridges are crafted from grade 5 titanium, achieving chronograph precision down to 1/10th of a second.
The rubber strap is available in two color options, black and orange, with streamlined grooves inspired by the aerodynamic design of the W1’s engine hood vents.
