RICHARD MILLE has unveiled the RM 65-01 McLaren W1, a breathtaking chronograph inspired by the latest McLaren W1 supercar. This marks the fourth collaboration between RICHARD MILLE and the prestigious British supercar manufacturer McLaren, resulting in a timepiece that perfectly marries elegance with high-performance.
The RM 65-01 is a testament to cutting-edge design, featuring a tonneau-shaped case that draws inspiration from the graceful lines of the McLaren W1. The unique concave and convex contour of the watch case embodies the sophisticated design language seen in the supercar.
For the first time, the bezel showcases an innovative dual-layer structure made from Carbon TPT® and grade 5 titanium. Each watch case boasts its distinct texture, with the upper layer showcasing the intricate patterns of Carbon TPT® and the lower layer polished to a mere 0.5mm thin, made from robust titanium.
The chronograph’s pushers are crafted from Carbon TPT® while the titanium crown is enveloped in orange rubber, ensuring a tactile and ergonomic experience. The openwork titanium dial takes inspiration from the wheel rim design of the W1 supercar, with vibrant accents reminiscent of a high-performance car’s dashboard.
Yellow embellishments adorn the hour, minute, and small seconds hands at the 6 o’clock position. The 30-minute and 12-hour counters feature orange accents, while the chronograph second scale is highlighted in blue. A vertical date window at 11 o’clock completes the dynamic dial layout.
At the heart of the RM 65-01 is the RMAC4 automatic movement, which boasts a power reserve of 60 hours and precision chronometry down to 1/10th of a second. The movement’s baseplate and bridges are crafted from grade 5 titanium, ensuring reliability and durability.
The rubber strap is available in both sleek black and vibrant orange, with aerodynamic patterns inspired by the W1’s engine hood design, emphasizing the synergy between watchmaking excellence and automotive innovation.
