The GR upgrade of the strong luminous version of the Patek Philippe Calatrava Ref.5226G-001 has arrived. Known for its smooth and round case design, the Calatrava series has been reimagined with the iconic Paris hobnail pattern, a classic element of Patek Philippe, seen in the 2021 Calatrava Paris Hobnail watch Ref.6119. A unique case structure forms a seamless blend between the lugs and the case back, allowing the Paris hobnail pattern to cover the case sides completely.
The dial, with its charcoal-gray hue, exudes a vintage charm complemented by a subtle black gradient at its edges, reminiscent of antique camera housings. The dial features white gold applied numerals with a beige luminous coating and a discreet ‘railway’ minute scale. The white gold syringe-style hour and minute hands are also coated with beige lume. At the 3 o’clock position is a date window with beige numerals against a black background.
Equipped with a modified 9015 movement, the Cal.26-330 S C features bridges with chamfered edges, fish scale patterns, and Geneva waves, along with gold engravings on the bridge surfaces. Screw slots are polished and chamfered meticulously, embodying perfection in every detail, and the movement proudly displays the classic double P mark of Patek Philippe.
The new Ref.5226G-001 comes with two interchangeable straps: a beige suede calfskin and a black calfskin with embossed texture and beige stitching. Both straps feature white gold pin buckles and quick-release spring bars for easy strap changes.
With the discontinuation of Ref.5296, Patek Philippe lacked a classic three-hand watch that combines elegance with stunning appeal. The GR replica now fills that void, capturing the essence of sophistication and timeless charm.
