The Patek Philippe Calatrava series is renowned for its elegant and smooth case design. The newly upgraded GR version of the Ref. 5226G-001 model introduces a luminous night glow feature, offering a captivating blend of classic allure and modern sophistication.
This stunning 40mm watch showcases Patek Philippe’s signature hobnail pattern, now elegantly decorating the sides of the case. This iconic motif, first seen in the 2021 Calatrava Ref. 6119, is seamlessly integrated into the case’s special structure, allowing the pattern to wrap fully around the sides.
The charcoal gray dial exudes a vintage charm with its subtle gradient to black at the edges, reminiscent of the textures found in antique camera cases. The dial is adorned with white gold 3D hour markers coated with beige luminous material, complemented by a discreet ‘railway track’ minute scale, and date window at the 3 o’clock position with a distinctive beige-on-black display.
The watch is powered by the modified Cal.26-330 S C movement, based on the reliable 9015 caliber. This movement features meticulously finished details, including chamfered and polished bridges with Geneva stripes and fish scale patterns, as well as gold-engraved surfaces and carefully beveled screw slots, all bearing the classic double P signature of Patek Philippe.
The Ref. 5226G-001 model comes with two interchangeable straps—a beige suede calfskin strap and a black calfskin strap with embossed texture and beige stitching—both equipped with convenient quick-release spring bars and secured by platinum pin buckles.
Following the discontinuation of the 5296, the market lacked an exquisite three-hand watch that elegantly merged timeless design and sophistication, until now. The release of the Ref. 5226G-001 fills this void, offering a piece that shines with understated elegance.
