The PPF factory has unveiled its latest groundbreaking innovation with the Patek Philippe Nautilus 5711 featuring the new Cal.26-330SC movement. This represents a significant evolution in watch technology, marking a momentous upgrade from the previous Cal.324 movement.
The new 330SC movement integrates all components into a single module, with upgrades to the balance wheel, gears, and hairspring. The incredible craftsmanship is evident with laser-engraved fonts and Geneva stripes and fish-scale decoration on the bridges, enhancing the overall aesthetic and sophistication of the watch.
Notably, the automatic rotor in the 330SC movement has undergone a transformation, with the angle of the rotor blade modified to a more rounded semi-lunar shape. The central axle lock has been enhanced with a ruby bearing, offering improved safety compared to the previous screw lock.
A critical technical improvement in the 330SC movement is the inclusion of a real transmission wheel, transitioning from a decorative silver wheel to an authentic gold wheel for a perfect four-stage acceleration system. This progression stabilizes torque during acceleration from the mainspring to the third wheel, fourth wheel, and escape wheel, enhancing power transmission efficiency and preventing second hand “shudder.”
The standout feature of the 330SC movement is the stop-seconds mechanism, utilizing a classic watch chain design. When the crown is pulled, the balance wheel stops, and pushing the crown back releases a pulse to reactivate the escapement module.
