Richard Mille unveils its latest masterpiece, the RM 65-01 McLaren W1 Automatic Winding Chronograph, inspired by the cutting-edge McLaren W1 supercar. This is the fourth collaboration between Richard Mille and the British supercar manufacturer McLaren, blending the sleek lines and vibrant colors of McLaren’s automotive excellence.
The watch’s bezel is a first of its kind, combining Carbon TPT® carbon fiber and Grade 5 titanium, with striking accents of orange, yellow, and blue. The design speaks to speed and precision, reminiscent of the McLaren W1’s elegance. The tonneau-shaped case echoes the aerodynamic contours of the supercar, featuring a unique ‘inverted’ double-layer bezel.
The upper layer of the bezel is crafted from Carbon TPT® carbon fiber, showcasing unique grain patterns on each watch, while the lower layer is polished Grade 5 titanium, with the thinnest part measuring a mere 0.5mm. The chronograph function buttons are made from Carbon TPT®, and the titanium crown is wrapped in orange rubber for enhanced tactile experience.
The skeletonized titanium dial is inspired by the W1 supercar’s wheel rims, with color highlights reminiscent of a supercar’s dashboard: yellow adorns the hour, minute, and 6 o’clock small seconds hands, orange for the 30-minute counter and 12-hour counter, and blue for the chronograph seconds scale. A vertical date window is placed at the 11 o’clock position.
The watch is powered by the RMAC4 automatic movement, offering a 60-hour power reserve. The baseplate and bridges of this movement are crafted from Grade 5 titanium, ensuring chronometric precision to 1/10th of a second.
Available with black or orange rubber straps, the streamlined pattern echoes the aerodynamic design of the W1’s engine hood vents, offering both style and comfort to the wearer.
