Discover the Art of Time: Richard Mille RM68-01 Graffiti Tourbillon

The Richard Mille RM68-01 is not just a timepiece; it’s a masterpiece on your wrist. This unique tourbillon watch is a collaboration with renowned Brazilian graffiti artist Cyril Kongo. Together, they have crafted a piece that marries mechanical prowess with the vivid aesthetics of street art.

The RM68-01 features upgraded zirconia ceramic for the face and back covers, complemented by carbon fiber for the middle case and crown. Despite its robust construction, the watch maintains an ultra-thin profile of only 14 mm.

The watch case, slightly deformed from the traditional barrel shape, is constructed from grade 5 titanium, paired with an NTPT carbon fiber band and a black ceramic bezel. The sleek arrow-shaped hands and the tourbillon structure located at the 6 o’clock position emphasize its avant-garde design.

Achieving the graffiti artwork on the delicate movement components was no small feat. Cyril Kongo spent over a year perfecting his tools and paints. By using a special airbrush that sprays minute droplets, he ensured the paint’s weight wouldn’t disrupt the movement’s balance. The specially formulated paints adhere perfectly to the titanium alloy parts, ensuring the vibrant colors remain undisturbed and unfaded over time.

The watch is powered by an RM tourbillon movement operating at a frequency of 28800vph, with a power reserve of 48 hours. Through the sapphire crystal case back, one can admire the vibrant graffiti radiating from the center, mimicking the dynamic splash of paint on a wall.

With the RM68-01 Graffiti Tourbillon, Richard Mille has once again pushed the boundaries of horological design, creating a watch that is as much a piece of art as it is a testament to innovative watchmaking.
