Revisiting the legendary RM012 movement, Richard Mille introduces the RM12-01 Tourbillon, a watch that beautifully combines material innovation with architectural design. Exclusively available in America’s boutiques, this model offers several limited editions.
The RM12-01 Tourbillon boasts a unique three-part case structure, which integrates all components seamlessly. The movement’s design is inspired by architectural structures, featuring tubular and slanted forms for optimal rigidity and resistance. This design not only enhances thermal and corrosion resistance but also creates a harmonious blend of functionality and aesthetic appeal.
The movement’s baseplate, inspired by racing chassis, provides increased stiffness and shock resistance. The intricate design is showcased through the combination of polished finishes, satin finishes, and circular granulation, all highlighted by the skeletonized bridges that surround the barrel, gear train, and tourbillon.
The limited edition RM12-01 cases come in stunning variations including black carbon TPT, red quartz TPT, and white quartz TPT, measuring approximately 51x42x15mm. The sharp, streamlined curves of the skeletonized bridges extend to the watch’s hand-wound movement, embodying the pinnacle of technical coherence and visual integration.
