The RM 38-02 Tourbillon Bubba Watson is a remarkable creation by Richard Mille, designed in collaboration with professional golfer Bubba Watson. This vibrant watch draws inspiration from the world of golf, particularly Watson’s preferred PING driver, accentuated in a distinct pink theme.
The watch features a unique tonneau-shaped case crafted from innovative materials. The bezel and case back are made from pink and white quartz TPT, while the middle section boasts a combination of carbon fiber and pink quartz TPT. Each case exhibits a unique weave pattern, ensuring a luxurious yet personalized appeal.
One of the captivating aspects of the RM 38-02 is the fully open-worked dial. This design allows for an unobstructed view of the movement, featuring skeletonized bridges that form a lateral ‘V’ shape, complemented by hand-painted pink details reminiscent of Bubba Watson’s golf club head.
Technical brilliance is embodied in the tourbillon positioned at 6 o’clock, which can withstand shock forces up to 10,000 g. This ensures reliability and precision even during the powerful swings of professional golfers.
Powering the RM 38-02 is a hand-wound movement, operating at a frequency of 28,800 vph, and offering 52 hours of power reserve. This movement is crafted on a carbon fiber baseplate with excellent shock resistance, while its bridges are made from grade 5 titanium, enhancing durability. The reverse side features pink embellishments through small apertures, adding an exquisite touch.
