Discover the Richard Mille RM 27-02: The Lightweight Tourbillon Masterpiece!

The Richard Mille RM 27-02 is a remarkable timepiece designed specifically for tennis legend Rafael Nadal. This sporty tourbillon watch showcases not only a superlight case but also unparalleled stability to endure the immense acceleration of a match-winning shot. Reflecting its performance on the grand stage, South African athlete Wayde van Niekerk famously wore this watch as he clinched gold at the Rio Olympics men’s 400m final.

Inspired by the chassis of race cars, Richard Mille has ingeniously integrated the skeletal main plate of the movement with the watch case, maximizing shock resistance. Collaborating with North Thin Ply Technology, Richard Mille developed a hard-wearing ‘quartz fiber’ ultra-light material for the watch case, resulting in a structure as light as a feather with a rugged Damascus steel-like texture.

The transparent dial reveals the complete architecture of the movement, featuring a floating tourbillon at 6 o’clock and Richard Mille’s exclusive fast-winding barrel at 12 o’clock. This innovative design offers an impressive 52-hour power reserve while boosting energy efficiency by 20% at the initial wind.

Secured by twelve grade-five titanium screws, the white bezel is complemented by an orange strap and red crown. For enhanced legibility, the tips of the hour and minute hands are accentuated in bright orange-yellow.

The RM 27-02 showcases a carbon fiber case, sapphire crystal case back, carbon fiber dial, floating tourbillon movement, 19 jewels, hours power reserve, woven strap, titanium buckle, and water resistance up to 50 meters. Its complexity lies in its tourbillon mechanism, making it a true masterpiece of horological art.
