The Richard Mille RM68-01 Graffiti Tourbillon is more than just a timepiece; it is a masterpiece on your wrist. This unique watch is the result of an extraordinary collaboration with renowned Brazilian graffiti artist, Cyril Kongo. The watch features a tourbillon movement with bridges mimicking the bold strokes of street art, creating a visual masterpiece that merges mechanics with aesthetics.
This watch is crafted with a slightly modified barrel-shaped case made from grade 5 titanium, adorned with an NTPT carbon fiber ring and a black ceramic bezel. The arrows of the hands draw a natural and smooth arc, while the tourbillon is elegantly positioned at the 6 o’clock spot.
To achieve graffiti on the delicate movement parts, Cyril Kongo spent over a year experimenting with special tools and paints. Using a unique airbrush technique, he applies tiny droplets meticulously, ensuring the paint’s weight does not affect the movement’s balance or operation. The special pigments adhere perfectly to the titanium surfaces, remaining vibrant and unfazed by disassembly.
Equipped with an RM tourbillon movement, this watch boasts a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and a power reserve of 48 hours. The sapphire crystal case back reveals a vivid graffiti pattern on the baseplate, designed to emulate the effect of paint splashed across a wall.
