The RICHARD MILLE RM 27-05 Flying Tourbillon Rafael Nadal is a marvel of modern watchmaking. Collaborating with tennis legend Rafael Nadal, RICHARD MILLE has crafted an ultra-light, ultra-thin masterpiece that weighs just 38 grams, including the strap, with a case thickness of merely 9 mm. Measuring 37.25×47.25×9mm, this watch is designed to withstand acceleration impacts up to an incredible 14,000g, making it the lightest and most robust tourbillon watch in the world.
The RM 27-05 is the result of five years of innovation, constructed from a newly developed carbon fiber composite—’Carbon TPT® B.4′. This advanced material boasts a density 4% higher than conventional Carbon TPT®, with fiber hardness increased by 15% and resin strength by 30%. The anisotropic optimization of the material’s structure ensures the watch remains incredibly lightweight yet significantly rugged, providing the strongest impact resistance in this watch series to date.
The new model features a watch crystal made of PMMA, an ultra-light polymer replacing the traditional sapphire crystal. This choice reduces weight while offering higher transparency and anti-glare capabilities. The fully open-worked dial showcases a unique geometric mechanical aesthetic, where V-shaped bridges and tourbillon bridges create a striking visual impact. The skeletonized barrel reveals the winding state, with gear systems at 2 o’clock and 8 o’clock perfectly aligned in a seamless connection.
