The latest GR upgraded luminous version of the Patek Philippe classic watch series Ref.5226G-001 has arrived, featuring a 40mm case. Celebrated for its rounded and smooth case shape, the Patek Philippe Calatrava series has been redesigned with a Paris hobnail pattern along the case sides. This pattern, a signature element of Patek Philippe, was reintroduced in their 2021 Calatrava series Ref.6119. Designers have developed an integrated case design that seamlessly merges the lugs and case back, fully covering the sides with the iconic pattern.

The charcoal gray dial exudes a vintage charm with a subtle gradient from black at the edges. Its delicate granularity is reminiscent of antique camera cases. The dial is adorned with white gold applied hour markers covered in beige luminescent coating, and features discreet “railway-style” second markings. The white-gold syringe-style hour and minute hands are also coated with beige luminescent material. At the 3 o’clock position, there’s a date window displaying beige numerals against a black background.

The watch is powered by the 9015 modified Cal.26-330 S C movement. The meticulously beveled bridge edges are finely polished, decorated with fish scale patterns and Geneva stripes. The bridge surface boasts gold engraving, and the screw slots are polished and beveled to perfection, marked with the classic double P emblem of Patek Philippe. All details are enhanced to match the quality of the original.

The Ref.5226G-001 model includes two interchangeable straps: one in beige suede calfskin and another in black calfskin with embossed pattern and beige stitching. Both straps feature a white gold buckle and quick-release spring bars for easy strap changes. With the discontinuation of model 5296, the PP collection lacked such a stunning three-hand watch that combines elegance with a touch of brilliance.
