Introducing the remarkable RICHARD MILLE RM 27-05 Flying Tourbillon Rafael Nadal, a watch that embodies ultra-lightweight and ultra-thin excellence. This exceptional timepiece weighs only 38 grams, including the strap, and features a case thickness of merely 9 mm. Its dimensions are 37.25 x 47.25 x 9 mm, offering an unparalleled combination of strength and elegance.
Created in collaboration with renowned tennis athlete Rafael Nadal, the RM 27-05 is designed to withstand impacts with an astonishing acceleration of up to 14,000 g. It is recognized as the world’s lightest and sturdiest tourbillon watch. The five-year development process utilized a groundbreaking carbon fiber composite called Carbon TPT® B.4, which boasts a density 4% higher than conventional Carbon TPT®. This material enhances fiber hardness by 15% and resin strength by 30%, optimized with anisotropic structural integrity to maintain lightness while enhancing robustness.
To further reduce weight, the watch features a PMMA ultra-light polymer crystal in place of the traditional sapphire crystal. This alteration not only lightens the watch but also offers superior transparency and anti-glare properties. The fully-skeletonized dial showcases a unique geometric mechanical aesthetic, with V-shaped bridges and tourbillon plates forming a striking visual impact. A skeletonized barrel showcases the winding status, while gear assemblies at 2 and 8 o’clock intricately interlock to create perfect synchronization.
