Introducing the RM 65-01 McLaren W1, a masterpiece created through the collaboration between Richard Mille and British supercar manufacturer McLaren. Drawing inspiration from the latest McLaren W1 supercar, this timepiece combines cutting-edge design with unparalleled precision.
The RM 65-01 stands out with its striking use of materials and colors. For the first time, the bezel incorporates two distinct materials: Carbon TPT® and Grade 5 titanium. This ingenious combination is enhanced by the inclusion of vibrant racing colors such as orange, yellow, and blue, evoking a sense of speed and dynamism.
The tonneau-shaped case, inspired by the graceful lines of the McLaren W1, features a unique ‘convex-concave’ profile. The watch’s dual-layer bezel reflects this design, with the upper layer crafted from Carbon TPT® showcasing unique textures, while the lower layer is made of polished Grade 5 titanium, measuring as thin as 0.5mm.
Chronograph pushers are fashioned from Carbon TPT®, and the titanium crown is wrapped in orange rubber to enhance handling comfort. The skeletonized titanium dial draws from the pattern of the W1 supercar’s wheel hub, with its colorful details reminiscent of a supercar’s dashboard: yellow accents on the hour, minute, and small seconds hands at 6 o’clock, orange accents on the 30-minute and 12-hour chronograph sub-dials, and a blue chronograph scale.
Powered by the RMAC4 self-winding movement, the RM 65-01 offers a 60-hour power reserve, with components such as the baseplate and bridges made from Grade 5 titanium, ensuring chronometric precision down to 1/10th of a second.
The rubber strap is available in two color options, black and orange, featuring streamlined textures inspired by the aerodynamic design of the W1’s engine hood.
