Richard Mille RM68-01: An Artistic Graffiti Tourbillon Masterpiece

Introducing the Richard Mille RM68-01, an extraordinary new tourbillon watch crafted in collaboration with Brazilian graffiti artist Cyril Kongo. This masterpiece merges the worlds of horology and street art, featuring intricate bridge plates inspired by graffiti strokes, adorned with vibrant colors and symbols. Every angle and design element is meticulously crafted to showcase the harmony between mechanical precision and visual artistry.

The watch boasts a Zirconia ceramic bezel and back cover, a carbon fiber middle case, and a sleek 14mm thickness. The barrel-shaped case, subtly reformed for this model, is constructed from Grade 5 titanium, complemented by an ‘NTPT’ carbon fiber ring and a black ceramic bezel. At 6 o’clock, the tourbillon mechanism is gracefully incorporated, while the two arrow-shaped hands create a natural, flowing curvature.

Kongo spent over a year perfecting his technique for applying graffiti to the delicate components of the movement. Using a specialized airbrush, he achieved remarkable precision, ensuring that each tiny droplet of paint was precisely controlled. This ensured that the paint’s weight did not disturb the movement’s balance or performance. The unique paint used adheres flawlessly to the titanium parts, remaining resilient and vibrant even through disassembly and reassembly.

Powered by the RM tourbillon movement with a frequency of 28,800 vph and a 48-hour power reserve, the watch features a sapphire crystal case back that reveals the intricate graffiti patterns on the movement’s base plate. These designs radiate from the center outward, mimicking the dynamic effect of paint splashing onto a wall.

The Richard Mille RM68-01 is not just a timepiece; it’s a wearable piece of art, demonstrating the perfect fusion of advanced mechanics and the bold creativity of graffiti art.
