The RICHARD MILLE RM68-01 Graffiti Tourbillon is not just a watch; it’s a masterpiece on your wrist. This extraordinary timepiece is the result of an innovative collaboration with Brazilian graffiti artist Cyril Kongo, transforming a tourbillon watch into an artistic expression of mechanical and visual beauty.
The watch features an upgraded zirconia ceramic front and back cover, carbon fiber mid-case and crown, and a sleek profile that measures just 14 mm thick. The barrel-shaped case has been subtly deformed and crafted from grade 5 titanium, complemented by an NTPT carbon fiber band and a black ceramic bezel.
What sets the RM68-01 apart is the unique graffiti-style bridge work, mimicking the strokes of street art in a variety of angles and shapes. Bright base colors and graffiti symbols are intricately integrated into the movement’s components, showcasing a seamless blend of creativity and engineering.
To achieve the delicate graffiti on the fine movement parts, Cyril Kongo meticulously experimented with painting tools and paints for over a year. A special airbrush that emits tiny droplets ensures strict control over the paint’s weight, preventing any disruption to the movement’s balance and operation. The specially developed paint adheres perfectly to the titanium parts, unaffected by assembly or disassembly, and promises everlasting vibrancy without fading.
Powered by the RM tourbillon movement, the watch operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and offers a power reserve of 48 hours. Through the sapphire crystal case back, one can admire the movement’s baseplate, adorned with vibrant graffiti colors radiating from the center, reminiscent of paint splashing against a wall.
