PPF Factory has introduced the newest generation of its flagship movement, the Cal.26-330SC, for the Patek Philippe Nautilus 5711. This represents a significant technological breakthrough, upgrading the previous 324 movement. Let’s delve into the enhancements of this innovative movement.
The new 330 movement integrates all components into a single module, upgrading the balance wheel, gears, and hairspring. The workmanship on the bridge is exceptional, with laser-engraved lettering, Geneva stripe polishing, and fish scale decoration adding to its aesthetic and luxurious appeal.
The automatic rotor of the 330 movement has undergone a transformation, with the rotor plate angle now modified to a smoother crescent shape. Additionally, the center axle lock mechanism of the rotor now includes a ruby bearing, offering improved safety compared to the previous screw design.
One of the most crucial technical details of the 330 movement is the addition of a genuine transmission wheel, replacing the original decorative silver wheel with a real gold wheel. This creates a perfect four-stage acceleration system, stabilizing torque and enhancing power transmission efficiency from the mainspring, third wheel, fourth wheel, and escapement wheel, ultimately preventing second-hand jitter.
The primary enhancement of the 330 movement is the stop-seconds mechanism. Utilizing a traditional watch chain, it halts the balance wheel when the crown is pulled. When the crown is pushed back, a pulse is generated to help restart the escapement module.
