Unveiling the Richard Mille RM68-01: Art Meets Mechanics!

The Richard Mille RM68-01 is a masterpiece that blends art and mechanics like no other. Collaborating with renowned Brazilian graffiti artist Cyril Kongo, this unique timepiece transforms traditional watchmaking into a vivid canvas of street art.

Its 14 mm thin case is crafted from zirconium oxide ceramics and carbon fiber, ensuring durability while maintaining a lightweight feel. The distinct tonneau-shaped case, slightly transformed, is made of Grade 5 titanium paired with NTPT carbon fiber rings and a black ceramic bezel. The watch features elegantly curved pointer hands and a tourbillon located at the 6 o’clock position.

Cyril Kongo spent over a year experimenting with tools and paints to achieve the perfect graffiti on the delicate movement components. Using a special spray gun that releases minuscule droplets, he ensured that the paint adhered flawlessly to the titanium parts without affecting the watch’s balance or functionality. The vibrant graffiti remains intact through dismantling and reassembly, never fading.

The RM tourbillon movement operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour and provides a power reserve of 48 hours. Through the sapphire crystal case back, one can admire the movement’s bright graffiti colors radiating from the center, mimicking the splatter of paint on a wall.
