The RICHARD MILLE RM68-01 is not just a watch; it’s a masterpiece that combines art and mechanics. This unique timepiece results from a collaboration with Brazilian graffiti artist Cyril Kongo, who brought his street art flair to the intricate tourbillon movement.
Its slim profile, just 14mm thick, features an upgraded zirconium oxide ceramic bezel and back, complemented by a carbon fiber case and crown. The watch boasts a subtly altered tonneau shape, crafted from grade 5 titanium, with a NTPT carbon fiber band and black ceramic ring.
The arrow-shaped hands glide effortlessly over the dial, with the tourbillon positioned at 6 o’clock. Kongo spent over a year experimenting with spray gun techniques and special paints, ensuring the vibrant graffiti would adhere perfectly to the titanium components without affecting the watch’s balance and operation.
Powered by the RM tourbillon movement with a frequency of 28,800 vph and a 48-hour power reserve, the watch showcases its colorful graffiti on the caseback, visible through the sapphire crystal. These graffiti patterns radiate outward, mimicking the effect of paint splashing onto a wall.
