The Richard Mille RM53-01 perfectly combines watch design with the spirit of sports, embodying unwavering determination and tenacity. Inspired by equestrian sports, this timepiece is crafted using advanced materials to withstand severe impacts during activities, ensuring its functionality and durability. The RM 53-01 tourbillon watch, known as the ‘PABLO MAC DONOUGH,’ is equipped with a robust TPT® carbon fiber case, laminated sapphire crystal, and a suspension cable movement. These features make it one of the most resilient luxury sports watches globally.
The case continues the classic tonneau shape, which is highly recognizable, measuring approximately 51x43x16mm. It’s made from TPT® carbon fiber composite, renowned for its superior shock resistance and unique textures, enhancing the watch’s aesthetic appeal. The TPT® carbon fiber case is secured with 20 grade 5 titanium spline screws and 316L stainless steel washers, ensuring water resistance up to 50 meters.
The watch’s crystal is equally robust. Typical watch glass would shatter under the impact of a polo mallet, but this model uses a patented UV-coated laminated sapphire crystal. It avoids shattering upon severe impact, only cracking, thus preventing harm to the movement and the wearer. The skeleton dial, made of titanium, features blue luminescent markers on the indices and hands, allowing easy time reading even in low-light conditions.
The transparent case back reveals the entire fishing system, showcasing a dual plate architecture. The system consists of a central plate securing the movement’s gears and an outer plate, supported by steel cables, that stabilizes the tension system. This suspended cable movement strengthens the watch’s rigidity while ensuring smooth gear operation and optimal shock protection.
The RM53-01 excellently integrates features from the RM27-01 and RM012 models. Richard Mille, ever-focused on technical innovation, continues to produce robust watches with intricate movements. This dedication is why the brand remains a leader in horological advancements. We eagerly anticipate the future innovations from Richard Mille.
